Timed Run: sixty seconds of number grids

Timed Run gives you sixty seconds to solve as many number grids as possible. The clock keeps running between boards, so hesitation is expensive. Each solve awards points plus a speed bonus, which makes fast recognition far more valuable than careful checking.

Play Timed Run

Step by step

  1. Press Start timed run to begin the sixty second clock.
  2. Solve the grid using the standard connected-chain rules.
  3. Press Check chain. A correct answer scores one hundred points plus a bonus based on how quickly you solved it.
  4. Move straight to the next round. The clock does not pause.
  5. When time expires your final score is shown and you can share it or start again.

Tips that actually help

  • Scan for the two largest adjacent digits first. Most targets need them, and it narrows the search immediately.
  • Do not verify twice. The speed bonus rewards committing to a chain you are reasonably confident about.
  • If a board resists you for more than a few seconds, accept the miss and move on. Time spent stuck costs more than one failed attempt.
  • Your first two solves set the pace. Getting quick early wins builds a bonus that a late rush cannot match.

How the speed bonus works

A solve is worth one hundred points plus roughly one extra point for every second you did not use, up to sixty. Solving in ten seconds therefore pays substantially more than solving in forty. That is why decisiveness outperforms accuracy in this mode, which is the opposite of the daily puzzle.

How it differs from Endless

Timed Run pressures you with the clock but never ends a run early: a missed board costs time, not a life. Endless Climb removes the clock and instead gives you three lives with difficulty that rises as you progress. Timed rewards speed, Endless rewards consistency.

Common questions

Does the clock stop between rounds?
No. It runs continuously for the full sixty seconds, including while you read a new board.
What happens if I fail a grid?
You keep playing. A miss costs you the time you spent, not the run.
